The First Folio exhibit is a rare opportunity to bring literature, art, and history to life for your students!

The First Folio

Upper elementary, middle school, and high school groups are encouraged to visit the First Folio exhibit, where a volunteer docent will provide a 20-minute guided tour. The Tweed Museum of Art will also have additional exhibits inspired by Shakespeare, so your group should plan to spend up to an hour total enjoying the wide variety of works on display. The Tweed Museum of Art is always free to visitors and groups. Schedule your First Folio visit by contacting

University of Minnesota Duluth

We encourage you to take advantage of a campus tour before or after your First Folio visit. This will acquaint your students with the programs and spaces that make UMD a wonderful place to live and learn. Schedule your campus tour by contacting UMD’s Admissions Office.

Campus and Community Events

Throughout October, Duluth will celebrate the First Folio with a wide variety of Shakespeare-related events that appeal to all ages and all interests. Check out the calendar of events to find a performance, lecture, or display that might appeal to you and your students.

The Folger Shakespeare Library, one of the exhibit sponsors, provides a wealth of resources for teachers and families to better understand Shakespeare, and to prepare for a visit to the First Folio:
